Marit Nybakk is the 31st President
of the Norwegian Association for Women’s Rights, and was elected on 21 May 2016
. A member of the Labour Party, she has served as a Member of Parliament for Oslo since 1986 and is First Vice-President of the Norwegian Parliament during the term 2013–2017. She is a former chair of the Standing Committee on Defence, vice chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, delegate to the United Nations General Assembly and leader of the Socialist Group in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. She was President of the Nordic Council in 2013.
